Le Difese 2024
Le Difese is the wine with which Tenuta San Guido welcomes guests from all over the world. Its name comes from the tusks of the wild boar, which appear in gold on the label.
The first vintage came out in 2002. Today it combines the estate's Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese from various parts of Tuscany.
An introduction to Tenuta San Guido, for every day and for evenings with friends. As a gift, too, it is a safe choice.
Taste & aroma
Carlo Paoli, winemaker and head of production at Tenuta San Guido, calls it a soft, youthful wine, into which select lots of Sassicaia and Guidalberto also flow. Approachable and delicately structured, it is already a pleasure to drink in its first months in the bottle.

The winery
Le Difese comes from Tenuta San Guido in Bolgheri, the estate of Sassicaia. It is conceived as an entry point to the house style: the Sangiovese, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, gives it an honest character and makes it versatile at the table.
In the cellar
The grapes are carefully selected and gently destemmed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with frequent pump-overs; malolactic fermentation also takes place in steel. The wine then ages in previously used French oak barriques, which previously held the estate's other wines, and returns to the steel tank for stabilization before bottling.
At the table
A versatile companion for convivial tables: with pasta in ragù, mushroom risotto, grilled or roasted meat, poultry, and braised dishes. Serve at 18 to 20 °C (64 to 68 °F).
